″yoisho″
The other day, an overseas customer said to me, “What’s ‘yoisho’?”
Just before that, I had seen a TikTok video where foreigners were saying, “Only Japanese people say ‘yoisho,’ right?” So the timing felt really perfect.
I realized that we Japanese unconsciously say “yoisho” all the time. It’s like a little word we use to put effort into moving or to psych ourselves up when we’re about to do something physical.
If you master saying “yoisho,” maybe that means you’ve become a little Japanese!
Talking with customers from overseas is always so much fun because I discover so many things that only Japanese people would understand. Please keep teaching me all sorts of things!
